Jet Black 335i took delivery TODAY!!

I was on th Falstaff, (along with wyrm11...congrats bro!) took about 6 days from date of port at Oxnard to get through VPC to dealer. Called today and found out my baby was ready to be picked up.

The first time i saw her/him (not sure the gender...want to call it the Owen special...Clive Owen from BMW films

) was from inside the dealer at a special delivery bay they have on the side. GOD it is gorgeous!. One of the most beautiful things i have ever seen (inanimate object i mean). It was semi cloudy and the light just accelerated across the front fender flares to the back.

Signing was no problem, the young guy who demo'd all the features (Derick) was great. Told me re; break in time "Drive it like you want to live with it!" AKA she likes it rough.

After i was done with the demo and final signing I shook hands with everyone involved (gave them 5 out of 5), I was then left alone with my car in front of the dealer. People looking at cars on the lot were checking out my ride, cuz it was the only 1 of 2 on the lot. Went over the car in detail, took some photos and video. Did not want to leave the dealer as it was 5:30 and horrible traffic, suddenly I was nervous about how many other cars there were on the road. So for the next 45 minuets i played with all the buttons and seats, found the sticker, played with the flashlight in the glove compartment (tough to get back in there), discovered just how much force is necessary to close the doors and the trunk. My first every BMW, let alone key fob, so I had to get used to the buttons.

Finally I had to use the bathroom. Wheeww. After my much needed relief I headed off to meet my sister for dinner. The first drive was amazing. Went over 100 mph on the freeway. Whoops! So easy to do. Got a look from a guy in a Merc CLS 500. THE BEST WAS SMOKING A PORSCHE BOXTER S. This is 8:30 at night on a long windy road with no lights. Speed limit is 60 mph. At the light I switched into Sport/Stepronic mode. Light turns green, in 1st gear I hear the deep roar of my engine and the light metalic noise coming from the soft top next to me. Then in 2nd gear I SMOKED his ass. "HOLY SHIT, this car is fast", I said out loud. I was amazed at the distance I put between us in the short amount of time. No contest!

Well my heart is still pounding from the experience, I hope to (safely) experience more. Have a good night ya'll. Thanks for all the great info. I am in this forums debt for the sanity it provided during the waiting process.

Adriana huh? Definitely going the girl for a car route, sweet. It is one of the best feelings seeing it for the first time!

I was concerned with break-in of the engine when I pick mine up. So you're saying not to treat her too nice? I work in Spain where they ignore the speed limit anyway so I am looking forward to seeing how quick the speed limiter will kick in. Mine will be done in 5 days but I am out of the country and won't be able to pick her up until May.
