I read up on this using search and I guess I could say I was warned, but when I ordered my 2011 335xi, I ordered it. After having the car for a few weeks I investigated this option (dealer never explained) and found out I needed to to order the snap in adaptor. I have an iPhone 3GS, so I ordered the snap-in adaptor from Tisher, and installed it in the console.

When the phone is inserted it appears in the list of devices in iDrive, it shows that a song is playing in Entertainment details, but there is NO AUDIO. I tried multiple times, I removed the USB cable, and I tried another iPhone 3G with the same results. Both iPhones work fine through USB.

Any Ideas?
