Is there an easy way to center the stock tips?
I thought I should post this question with the exhaust experts. My stock tips are not centered from the factory. I think they are too far to the right. Is there a way to adjust the tail pipes or clamps? I would rather take care of this myself vs. wasting time going to the dealer.

they are most likely off on the hangers, you just need to get under and look, the move the hangers on the mounts and it should stay for awhile. I always end up putting zip ties on the hangers to lock the mounts from moving....

Thanks, I will check. I tried to move the tips/mufflers, the unit wouldn't budge. I thought there might be bolts I can loosen to line things up? I have never seen a car this off from the factory. Manufacturing, shipping and VPC all went smooth with no delays. I assume this is a factory fit issue.

I just installed my ams exhaust and is way off!! My left tip is 1" farther out than the left. That happened when i put back that X brace there's under the car that one needs to remove to get to the exhaust. Is a pain in the ass but I need to find a way to fix that

Yea my Top Speed exhaust is a bit off. We centered it up but it has flexed since it heated up after being used, but I like the zip tie idea. I'm gonna prob do that.

I just bought 12" zip ties yesterday and gave them a try. I looped one zip tie around the exhaust piping on my left exhaust and connected it to two more loops of zip ties to form a little chain. I then attached and tightened the far loop through a circular hole in a rear cross-brace while having a friend push the exhaust over.
My exhaust tips look centered now, but I wonder how long it'll be before the exhaust piping gets hot enough to melt my poor zip tie. |
