Rear Deck Speaker Buzzing
My right rear deck speaker (Logic 7) is buzzing at certain frequencies and while no passengers seem to notice, it's really annoying me
Anybody had this happen and maybe it's repairable or should I just order a new speaker from BMW or something? ...don't figure this would be covered on the original or CPO warranty |

try to take the cover off and make sure its clean
you might find a piece of dirt or something that is causing all this never hurts to tighen the screws while you are in there |

Is it always buzzing? Even when there's nothing playing?
If it's just with the certain songs, I bet they were encoded poorly. Try playing a different mp3 of the same song. I have this chirping from my tweeters on certain songs but it's only when I use the BB stereo gateway. Other sources don't do this. |

In fact, while I was back there I was able to listen better and I can't hear any actual music coming out of that speaker...just distortion. Same thing with the other [left] deck speaker, except it is quieter so I didn't notice while driving. Could they both be blown?? I guess I could just disconnect them, but it kinda sucks since I just bought the car CPO....I bought it out of state, too, so going back to the dealership would be more than 3 hours each way |

but try to turn that off and set bass and treble (or EQ if you have it) all to zero and check again if it still distorts it might be the amp I always thought CPO means you can take it to ANY bmw dealer not just the one you bought it from |

I can probably take it to the local dealer, but I wasn't sure if the warranty covers speakers....still has a year on the original warranty, plus the CPO one. I'll mess with the settings but odd that only the rears would be affected if the amp was bad |

The previous owner was probably one of those rear-fill fanatics and ended up blowing the speakers listening to Pimp Daddy with the fader all the way to the rear....

The new car warranty will cover everything.....the extended warranty will not cover the nav/audio system. Sorry.

Well, like I said, I've still got the balance of the original warranty, so I guess I'll call the local dealer tomorrow and see if it covers this before I bother going down there
