the labonte failsafes have been known to fail very quickly, not sure if labonte took care of the vendor issues he said was to blame, but if you search here and on the 'other" forum you will see what i mean

snow components are great, only problem i ever seen was steven's solenoid, and snow did the right thing on that and he hasnt had a failure since

The problem is, there are no flow sensors out there that can support 100% meth and provide the 0-5V output the labonte unit SHOULD do. There is the coolingmist flow sensor, but it only works with the CMGS/VC2 gauge and is only compatible with a 70/30 at most.

thats the problem we have with alex's car, the snow doesnt use the 0-5v output either, but its at least reliable as a fail safe itself, just not good for sending signal to the tune

i'm honestly not sure, after pouring 100% on the shop floor and trying to light it up and seen the flash, we would never run it straight, it took all the hair off my knuckes (i know i know )

100% meth flashes? I lit up some dumped meth by accident with a flicked cigarette it just burns a really slow dark blue.

I believe the Snow Performance failsafe uses a 0-1.5V output. Considering flow is only measured in increments of voltage, I can see how the Snow Performance unit might still work with the Procede. Just the injection mode settings would be different than those who use the Labonte unit.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong here.

i have done it three or four times and every time my lighter barely got near the puddle and it went up and made that classic "whoof" sound and went up and was really hot

then i burned a 80/20 and it was alot harder to ignite it

yes 0-1.5 volt, they say its much more accurate for giving info to the optional flow gauge, but i know last we checked, the procede needed the 0-5 and the 0-1.5 wouldnt work, but that was 1.5 years ago

Yup, mr.5 has a good video about the water/meth mixture and whether it will ignite on youtube. The water does a good job of helping it not ignite as long as you stay around 50/50, much over that and you will be seeing the blue flames...

Kevin is right...there are very very few problems with SP hardware and I seem to be the only one that had a problem with solenoid grounding...I am currently still using some SP hardware which are the progressive controller, tank, meth lines and nozzle adapters, the only labonte hardware is the Safeinjection module which I have for over a year possibly....I have my meth volume at this point of somewhere near 90/10~ and its still functioning as advertised...I know alot of people not having problems with the Labonte SI but Dan at Labontemotorsport might be right as for the batch of new ones that are shipped lately, they might be flawed because of the change in manufacturer which I hope if thats the case Dan rips into the manufacturer...

I hope Labonte goes back to their OLD manufacturer. This is bs!

Since he has a procede the labonte is the only one that can be used and known to work 100%.
I would love for my safe injection from snow to work but the output is the wrong voltage so i was forced to get the labonte . Lets hope my unit wont fail....

+1. I have my snow safeinjection still and it's just sitting in my tool chest. I think I need to sell it on a different tuning scene because t seems like it will never work for our application. Snow safe injection does appear to be made so much better than labontes SI

Just out of curiosity since you have one... why don't you connect the SP 0-1.5V output to the Procede harness instead of your labonte just temporarily?. I want to know if it actually provides a usable output to the Procede on Debug Byte 7.

If the only difference is the actual output figure generated, it could be a viable alternative. If my FOURTH labonte IFS-30 fails, I will be forced to find another solution.

from what i was told by derek "a previous tech guy at snow" said that they are working on making a seperate one to have 0-5v but i bet now that everyone is jusy buying the labonte's unit they lost interest, we should all request snow make that version of the fail safe to show interest

Well mine is working fine after a year, if that's what you want to try I can let you try it out on your car and if it works then give me 50 bucks for it, if it doesn't just return it back to me

have you guys thought of Aquamist for your failsafe?
i've used there stuff with 100% meth and never had any issues with the failsafe part of the kit. I've used so much strait meth that the seals inside the pump would start to fail and the pump would leak but the controller and failsafe hardware never failed.....
