The 1500 Holiday Bonus was not a win for 3 series leases. I leased a new 328xi end of October and the lease deal would have gone up with the reduced residuals, slightly higher MF if the November program factors were used.

For the new 5 series, it saves a few bucks.

Wish you well and I enjoy your adventures.

Mark
So he basically played dumb with the dealer, he had cold feet with his order and found a clever way to back out of the deal?

If so what was he here complaining about?

final outcome of the Rebate fiasco

To All: Mark thanks for the comments......Hey Guys I know all about Leases and how they work and how Deposits are handled here in NY......My Deposit remarks were pointed to the Dealer to see if he would then say lets comprimise on something and finish this deal........He did not and I never burn bridges when I part company...
All I was doing here was bringing up the fact that BMW worded there Holiday Gift Offer in such a way that it was not a Gift on the Lease end...all they did was fiddle with the #'s give you the $1500 in one hand and take it back in the other...Yes its true with a Purchase they were forthright in how they explained how it works, but not on the Lease end.
I have probably bought and sold as many cars over the Years as anybody on this forum, and I have seen and been involved in all soughts of Crazy Deals...
Finally and more important as Mark knows life is very Precious and my mind 2 hours a day seven days a week are with my Wife who is Dying, very slowly from ALS......
Enjoy what you have-----make sure you have Long Term care Insurance. If you have your Health everything else is unimportant
This forum along with the Corvette Forum is my Emotional outlet.....Take care... Harvey.
By the way Read the new GM Holiday Offer--straight forward and simple..

Harvey,

I truly wish you and your wife the very best. ALS is a very difficult and frightening disease. My prayers are with your wife and hope that you are able to share the time together in the very best way possible.

Best of luck.

BTW - sold my 2005 C6 a few months ago to a 1st time Vette owner. Great transaction. I will be back in a Vette when I "cycle" back. More time to play with the toys I have.

Very sorry to hear about your wife's situation, best wishes.

Last time I leased a GM pickup truck, GM was taken to the cleaners when all the leases returned, they stopped leasing. Is GM returning with some good leases now?

According to BMW, "36-month lease,.. $0 Down Payment & includes a Holiday Credit of $1,500

while the financing has a "$1,500 Holiday Credit1 available."

Accordingly, if financing, the $1500 is an added incentive while the $1500 is already "included" in the lease offer.

Like most "offers, this one is shady, but the OP should not have expected a $1500 credit - that is only available if buying the car.

OP - best of luck to you and your family. The whole community is sending their thoughts and prayers.

or you can be like me and pay cash in giant bags of pennies. I don't even roll them... They can do it.

I think next time I'm going to change it up and pay in blood diamonds, gold bullion, or sand dollars. That's just how I roll...

You're looking at specific lease offers vice the Holiday Credit (you know, the ones where you can get a 335i "well equipped" for $489). Here's the direct quote specifically about the credit:
Quote:
Holiday Finance Credit offer is being made by BMW of North America, LLC and only applies to specific new 2011 BMW Models leased or financed through BMW Financial Services. Available new 2011 models receiving the credit are: 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series (except 760 and Alpina’s), X5, X6, M3, X5M, X6M, and Z4. Holiday Finance Credit amounts of either $1,500 or $2,500 are based on model. Holiday Credit must be applied to a Lease, OwnersChoice or Retail Finance contract though BMW Financial Services by January 3, 2011. The current lease offers can be found at http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...aseoffers.aspx. The current finance offers, 0.9% APR on the 2011 models, can be found at http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...r/default.aspx is applied directly to the contract, reducing the amount financed and is disclosed as such on the contract. Subject to credit approval.
The Holiday Credit can be applied to the lease as you wish including a cap cost reduction, payment of drive away costs (registration, doc fees, finance fees, etc.) or as security deposits.
