Need to Prep Car Before Snow???!!??
Hey guys. I'm a newbie when it comes to prepping car's body before winter. My questions are:
1) How can I protect my car's paint/body rom salt and winter dibries? 2) Where can I get this done?(local shop on LI) 3) How much does it cost? 4) Can I do it my self? (it's a little fcking cold out side!) Thanks!!!

1. Park car in garage.
2. Don't take car out of garage till March. 3. Go online to www.craigslist.com. 4. Purchase beater. |

I'm no detailing expert but I feel a simple wash, clay, and good wax should last you for most of the winter. Thats what I do to my car each season change and it seems to hold up well. Not too expensive but I recommend you borrow a Porter Cable from someone you know. Helps quicken up the process.

^^ Good advise
I would never buy something just for winter when i have such great car for winter Snow tires on this car do magic, especially combined with great stability control this car has I've been driving in upstate hilly areas for 3 winters in this car, i dont think i want to drive anything else Yes, it's that good |

Op, winters nothing a good detail shouldnt take care of, with some sort fo paint protection, wax or sealant
I was lazy and haven't got around to properly waxing/sealing the car for winter and now it is soo cold that I don't have the willpower or cold tolerance to do it if the temperature hits mid 50's again, I will take care of it

But this new set of 235/40R-18 Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 is just insane I lost dry traction/cornering comparing to Dunlops (winter sport tires), however, winter performance is just light years ahead I pass most SUVs and AWDs going uphill on unplowed roads with no effort As long as there is no packed snow over 6"-8", i'm fine Blizzaks are great! |

got my wish today
it was 60 at my house but raining on and off washed it outdoors in a dry period of the day and then brought it in the garage for clay bar, quick hand polish, and sealant before I got tired, hopefully tomorrow is just as warm, so I can leave it in the garage and give it another coat of some high gloss wax and finish up other things like the interior
