Many people have gotten one of the progman updates that have broken RTTI. Most have experienced this problem with versions 25.02 to 25.04.
The TI symbol shows up at the bottom of nav but the plus sign does not appear. The traffic screen will check for messages then report there are no messages. Its almost as if there is a setting the dealership or driver can choose to make RTTI work again. I have tried turning off and on traffic information in the settings screen and changed the station it uses to look for traffic updates. My dealership is researching the problem but no answer yet since this is a new issue. Has anyone found a fix for this problem? Mods, to get some visibility to the problem please dont move this thread immediately. Thank you. |

I don't have any of the updates, but last night my RTTI stopped working. All it says in the traffic info is "transferring messages" and it just stays there. It was like that for over an hour while I was driving home. Anyone else experiencing RTTI troubles, I'm in Nor Cal. Maybe there is something wrong with the brodcast up here.

I got 25.00.02 and yes, my RTTI is broken with the symptoms stated above. Not happy about this, but if BMW can get an update SOON that will fix it WITHOUT breaking something else, I'll be happy.

Anyone know what exact version is shipping with new cars as of March production? I don't live in a metro area for RTTI so I won't know if mine works until the next time I travel to one.

![]() The progman 25 people get the no messages display after checking for updates. In an area with constant traffic messages this is certainly broken. |

There is a solution to this problem that has been confirmed by a couple og people on the german motor-talk forums.
What you have to do is eject your current navigation DVD and insert a older version of it. Then follow the procedure to initialize this DVD (it will tell you on screen, it onvolves turning off the car for 10 minutes). Once the old DVD is initialized, repeat the process with the newer DVD. Initialize it and keep it in there. This will fix the traffic info problem. Hope this helps. Cheers |

One thing I know for sure though is that in Germany the BMW dealers have a service bulleting for this that identifies the problem (so it is known at BMW) and describes the procedure in detail. I would believe that BMWNA will have the same info available. So best thing to do is probably to go see your dealership. |
