Are you saying you feel the car pulling to one side under acceleration?

I run at the track full out I don't experience any torque steer. You may have some technical trouble.

I have the same problem....I feel like I need an alignment though.

I haven't gotten one since I swapped my stock 159s to my Breytons then back to my 159s....I know.

My Stage 1 Dinan 09 x-drive has NO torque steer.

Front tire pressures equal? Tires in good shape? No tread/belt separation or bubbles?

Secondly, I'd get an alignment and front end check if the tires are OK

Something sounds amiss.

So these past 2 weeks have brought fluctuating weather to Philly....Monday it was 60 degrees and the next day it was 30.

I checked my tire pressures and because I have FTM my car didn't realize each tire had lost 10psi!!!!

My torque steer is basically gone but I still pull a bit to the left. I think I'm still going to get an alignment next week when I get my engine head replaced.

The 10psi will do it. If it is still pulling under hard accel the alignment will clean it up. There really should be any torque steer at all. Good luck. Let us know how it turned out.

brilliant. thanks.

anyways I don't know what else to chalk it up too. Alignment is fine. The car does pull left of right when under WOT.

It never did when stock, but now with all mods it does and requires both hands on the wheel.

any other suggestions?

For what it is worth I got this email from my shop BR Racing in Los Gatos.

Torque steer (and obviously more w the extra power you have from the car) is caused by two factors.

1. The length of the front half shafts....if they are not equal length (don't know if they are exactly the same), then hard power will transmit more to one side before the other...seen in the MINI Cooper in a big way when we added power.

2. The other is the front control arm bushings. Now, the E90/E92 M3 front lower control arm bushings will fit on your car, and we have installed those for other reasons on other customers cars (but not an XI), so don't know if they will solve that issue in your car or not. But, those would be a good upgrade anyway for your car, and worthy of consideration.

Yea my next suggestion was bushings.

My dad's e65 bushings are worn and causing accelerated tire wear. I guess it could also cause torque steer if one is worse than the other.

FWIW- I have the same issue presidio. Interested in what you find. I check my tire pressure- both are at 34 psi.

So I just remembered something. Probably within 5 months of owning my car the car/steering wheel started to vibrate basly at 75-80MPH+. I thought it was wheel alignment with my new rims, but I took it into BMW and they said the front bushing were "worn/torn".

Maybe that is the problem now too, just exaggerated.

Has anyone upgraded to the E90/E92 M3 front lower control arm bushings? Do they fit on our car?

A bit off topic- what spring rates did you go with on your AST's??

I don't know off the top of my head. The spring rate was selected by STETT through a group buy. The coils are AST branded (but I think they are hypercoil). I have helper spings in the front as well.

Nothing front from the M3 is usable with the exception of strut tower brace.

My ast coils are on order with swift springs, I went with the 336/f and 672/r spring rates.
