maybe you can thank him for me...sounding like "know-nothing" was not the intention- i clearly said that's what id like, not what i intended to achieve! post clearly asked for suggestions as well, not lectures...and i had not been such a jerk about it these forums had not become so much about bashing people's opinion...

You're not gonna get an exhaust system that can even come close to duplicating that sound on your smooth inline-6, even with twin turbos. And lastly, a loud exhaust may be fine for a high-school kid or a track car, but not really advisable for the street. You tend to piss off too many of the wrong people that way.
+1 One of the more informative posts ive seen on this forum!

Roundel335 is right, it can't be done.

If you want a road car that sounds like an F1 forget the new Ferraris and stuff.
An F50 must be the closest F1 sounding road car I've ever heard:

An F355 is pretty close too if you can't afford the F50.

i have a bastuck muffler and 2nd cat delete. the tone is amazing but its not the loudest exhaust. without the 2nd cat delete it was barely louder than stock.

if you go fully catless it will be pretty loud. i really like it because of the tone from the exhaust...havent found another 335i exhaust that sounds like it so far (maybe bmw performance or eisenmann but i havent heard them in person)

I will see if I can snap a video of our exhaust tomorrow if we get it on the car on the dyno. We have to finish up a set of downpipes and then the fun begins for the bolt on parts.
