iPhone Repair/Software Service

Just wanted to throw this out there for you locals.

I've been doing iPhone repair/software work for a bit over a year now and can help with essentially any issue you may have with these phones.

I charge $10-20 for software work (i.e. jailbreak/unlock), $40 for glass replacement on 3G/3GS, $50 for LCD replacement on 3G/3GS, $140 for screen replacement on the 4, and $200 for the white conversion of the 4 (pm for details; price greatly varies). Located in Stony Brook, Long Island. I'll sell/ship you any parts you need if you'd like to tackle anything on your own.

Of course, I'll provide all the answers and advice to anyone free of charge. I'll guide anyone through any software work they'd like to do themselves; it's all relatively simple. And with a new unlock out recently, any 3G or 3GS can be unlocked for travel or use with cheap T-Mobile or Simple. I've got directions written out and can e-mail them to anyone that's interested.

UPDATE: White iPhone 4 Conversion

Here's my personal iPhone 4 converted to white. I replace not only the front/back but also the charge port and headphone jack, transferring the water damage sensors from each over to the new parts.

i have an unresponsive home button on my iPhone 4. After seeing the DIY, I think a turbo replacement would be easier than that. I'd take it to the Apple store for a warranty exchange, but I'm afraid the ones that are coming out are 4.2 which = tethered jailbreak.

Have you tackled that job yet?

My friend has a 3GS that's cracked, I'll let him know. I'm assuming prices include the parts as well?

How can I do software update on my ipod touch without losing all my music? My main computer is f'd up and I have to do it at a different computer. Last time I did a software update it erased ALL my music and photos/videos. I'm having trouble with my date calendar always changing back 2 days. So today it says its nov 30th. Every time i adjust it to correct day it goes exactly 2 days back!WTF!

To be honest, I haven't tested the flash after replacing the back cover to white (I've converted 2 4s), but looking at my 4 now, I can see how slight manufacturing error of the flash "lens" could cause problems. I'm about to order a white set for my 4, and I'll get back to you once I receive it and test it out. I'll post a few pics of my 4 once I turn it white early next week.

Absolutely no camera/flash difference with my phone. The back came with a protective film covering the camera lens from the inside--that could be the problem of whoever you heard from.
