Angel eyes as DRL e90 vs e92

I've seen some friends with e92's that have halo's as their DRL's, and I'm pretty sure they didn't buy that one harness. Is e92 different from e90? I can't disable my halogen DRL's on my e90.. is there a way without buying the harness?

You can disable the inner light by going into lighting in I-Drive and disable the daylight running lamps, not too sure how do this without I-Drive. Hope this helps

There is a way to do this on non-idrive models, the manual shows how to (least my 06 e90 shows that) but I think the option to disable DRL's depends on what country you bought the car in. Ex. Canada doesn't have that option coz its mandatory that new cars have DRL's

You can use the turn signal stalk to deactivate the halogen DRLs.

You can code the angel eyes as DRLs. Or wire them yourself. There a couple threads explaining the process of wiring the AEs to either the cigg lighter or to one of the leads in the ECU box or something like that.

I had mine wired to my cigg lighter before my passenger side burnt out. My driver's side is still fine so I doubt the re-wiring caused the faulty bulb.

I'm designing a custom set of angel eyes for my car with a goal of 2000 lumens.....my weisslicht are about 400 lumens I believe. They will be coded as DRLs.

As far as I know, you can't code them as DRL for pre-LCI E90. I may be wrong.

I was under the impression that any lights can be coded as DRLs.....including the taillights and the license plate lights.

I haven't order my OBD-II cable yet so I haven't started coding yet.....you may be right.

I have the daylight running lamp unchecked and I usually just turn my light switch two to the right, which allows jus the halos to be on, but I do have that ugly amber light on as well.
