VRS Decklid paint

So as some of you know i switched from a JB 335 to a AW M3. I decided to keep my VRS decklid and have it repainted. When i asked the paintshop how much it would be they said $450 to paint it. Well i get a call today telling me that the decklid needs more repair than they anticipated and its going to be an additional $350. When i bought it for the 335i it was already painted so i dont know what it cost to paint the decklid but does $750 sound correct to you guys?

What is the going rate to paid a decklid? What have you guys paid?

definitely he is ripping you off for $750.
usually it only cost about $350-$400 to paint the whole trunk.

yup ripping you off. Is it just the spoiler or is it the whole trunk replacement?

The whole trunk that was painted jet black and i want painted AW.

should only be around 300. 400 max.

I'd say take it to another shop for a second opinion. Since your in SoCal, I would recommend K&W Autobody as they do some great work and have done tons of SEMA projects. Just ask for Kenny at (909) 468-5626 and you'll be taken care of!

what exactly are they "repairing"? was something wrong with it?

They say they need to repair becausenyiu can see the cf weave is not smooth. They also claim it is dented.. I was like it's cf how can it be dented?

I wrote the lady an email and sent her one of the 3 quotes I got before I sent it to her. If she doesn't come down in price I will pick it up and take it somewhere else. I'm tired of people trying to screw me.
