New to BMW and got a healight question

i have a 2007 328xi coupe. i wanted to replace the headlight bulbs. on the headlight it says "BMW dynamic xenon D1S f=70mm Q=70mm". i wanted to get Mtec D1S 8000k GE bulb blue. Can i just switch out the bulbs i have in there now with these, or do i need anything extra for it to work? are xenon and HID the same thing? may be a stupid question but like i said im new to this whole thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

8K is VERY blue. HID /Xenon's are the same. the bulbs are a direct swap.

i just switched to Philips Ultinon 6000, they are the purest white i've seen w/ a touch of blue, and they reach far down the road.
