5 specific questions: good deal? holiday credit? sales tax? ...?
As spec'd here:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=466851 MSRP=$49,425 INVOICE=$44825 INVOICE_WITH_MACO_DESTINATION=$44825+$400+$875=$46 100 => Now $46100-$3100=$43000 (... $3100 is the price below MSRP) License and registration fees: $647 Question 1: Is license and registration a fixed fee in Santa Clara County? Or is it a percentage of the sell price? Santa Clara County Sales Tax on $43000 = $3982 So $43000 + $647 + $3982 = $47629 Now, add the $1500 Holiday Credit on $47629 to get the final price of $46129. Question 2: Can't the $1500 Holiday Credit be subtracted from $43000 to make the sales tax computation on $41500 instead of $43000? Instead of subtracting it at the very end? That would reduce my final price to: $45,986 Question 3: Also, why on earth is MACO and the destination charge used as the base to compute the sales tax? When you buy on Amazon, they don't use the shipping amount to compute the sales tax! Question 4: Is it kosher, to then ask the dealer to reduce the final outgoing price to $45,000? Or go lower? Thoughts? Thanks! I'm pretty useless at negotiating face to face but I love data! Question 5: What do you think of this deal? |
