Deleting my secondary cats..
Well i deleted my resonator on my E90, and divorced the piping, no x-pipe, i like the sound, Coupe like loud maybe a bit more. More rumble since there is no x-pipe im guessing down low around idle, sounds good.
Tomrrow i am deleting my secondary cats, just wanted to hear some opinions on sound, will it get much louder or even louder at all? |

Secondary cat delete will significantly increase sound, I had it for a while but eventually put them back as it got annoying at times, but thats just me.

Just my history, i put up a thread with pics and vids. Cost me 100 bucks, took it to a local muffler shop took about one hour. For E90's, its a 100% must do mod... but if you want louder like me, secondary cats are next |

YES! thanks for doing this, you will help me decide which route i want to go! post the video asap! i guess the resonator delete wasn't loud enough for you? lool
im thinking removing my secondary cats and resonators in one go and IF it gets too loud, just undo the golf tee mod.

Well, the resonator delete, made my e90 335i sound like E92 335i at WOT, just a tad bit louder maybe with a slight different tone on partial throttle since i removed the resonator which always acts as a x-pipe and divocred the piping, compared to the e92 aswell which has a small x-pipe, this changes the part throttle sound. That the best way to sum it up since i owned both the E90/e92 335i's. well see, should be fun |

Got em deleted guys... Overall i am very happy with the exhaust setup now!
I am going to make a new thread with a cold start and small rev video, until i have some time later today to do some drive bys. deleting the cats, didnt make it that much louder to my surprise. The N54 exhaust note is more pronounced tho, that is the only thing i can gather from deleting the cats. But overall the resonator delete and secondary cat delete sound like a bmw performance exhaust. Its just perfect! sounds expensive, and i am already getting compliments for it. Videos to come soon. I am very picky with my exhaust notes so, and i cant be happier! 'IwantM3' came with me so he can testify to the sound If i had to do it again, i would of deleted my secondary cats the same time i deleted the resonator! But man, this makes the E90 so much more fun, and the car overall more fun to drive!!! Last edited by Bagelfast; 12-22-2010 at 10:02 AM.. |
