I mistakenly purchased the wrong mirror for my e90 (mine does not have a factory alarm system). I'm willing to sell it for what I purchased it for: $165.

Brand New OEM BMW part number 51 16 7 028 444

You did not buy the wrong mirror. All the mirrors have the red 'clown nose' on them whether you have the factory alarm or not.

My 09' 328 had one and I didn't originally have factory alarm. Doesn't matter that you don't have the alarm - the LED inside the clown nose will simply not blink...

That mirror will work fine on your car - if you don't have Auto Dim & Homelink right now - you will need to buy the Mirror Retrofit Harness from Tischer ($25.93) Part number 61120434330 and follow the DIY for the mirror install on this forum

I upgraded my plain jane mirror to Auto Dim/Homelink/Compass version using these parts/instructions - no problem

Thanks for the tip on the retrofit harness. I'm not concerned about the blinking LED.
