so i went to my local radio shack and all they had were 8ohm 20watts, i figured id give them a try....

i hooked them up with the 4700uF caps and nothing happen, still got the error and (red) car on lift...

after having the lights on for about 1min. i turned off the car and started to remove the resistors and they were burning hott!!! untouchable hot for about a 1 min or so... i let them cool down and i took them off... im back to square one now...

jon- as far as a 125ohm 50watt resistor i really dont even know where to begin looking for something like that, i almost feel like im forced to just take them off and put back on my stock boring dull lights....

frustrating.......

yeah with a 8ohm 20 watt resistor your just going to burn thru them like nothing...even with a 125 ohm and 50 watts your going to have a bit of heat coming from them...but they wont be burning hot. even if you go with a harness your going to need to use resistors to get that additional load. i will be going to my local electronic store tomorrow morning i'll check to see if they have the resistors in stock and if they do i'll get you some prices. PM me your number and a good time to call i have some questions that might be able to help me help you.

The interior components from the OEM Xenons (controllers, ballasts, etc) for an E90 that DID NOT come with Xenons are garbage to the user.. The only thing that will be good to you are the housings. Ive already done this mods with all the head aches to an error free install... You'll need an m tech HID kit... Look for anrew@karbonwerkes

Xenondepot kits work flawlessly - they come with resistors on both sides. I too had an issue with the flickering and it turned out one of the wiring harness' was faulty. Steve replaced them at no extra cost

Try testing one side at a time, by interchanging the harness and ignitor unit - that way you will know where the fault is. BTW, I have Oct '06 build E90 and most problems here are on the '06 builds. Mine have been running flawlessly for 6 months now.

no problem at the moment..interested in getting an angeleyes hid kit..but dont want to have problems with a ''bulb out error'' since my car is an 11/06 build date..so i'm curious if anyone knows of a fix,I really want that kit.Perhaps your knowledge could be of use on the groupbuy for the angeleyes hid kit in the vendor section.

thats what i thought, i ordered the SAME kit I had on the car last year and it flickers, both sides not just one so its not a coincidence

Glad that worked out for you... You can probably go with a single llarger cap instead of 2. Glad I could help

with cap.. you can just add them.. i assume your running them in parallel to get the largest capacitance. so in your case 4700+4700= 9400uf you can do anything larger than that with a single cap. hth

Or just add a third cap.

to not get an error you need to do load capacitors and resistors...sounds like a oxymoron but I've tried it a few times and thats the only way without getting the LCM on the ECU flashed. I got the light error on my car because it just has capacitors on each side of the wiring harness right now...(capacitors aka "warning cancellers" ) but once i stop being lazy I'll install the resistors as well. I'm just so damn busy D;
