I find it amazing how people are surprised by the price of a high end detail. I'm not a professional detailer, but have considered going into the business before. I've read that the average $ to shoot for is somewhere around $50/man hour. A huge vehicle like a Chevy truck is going to take 8 hours minimum ($400) and it goes up from there depending on how much correction he would like to have done to the vehicle. MuttGrunt's guesstimate (keep in mind he hasn't consulted the OP) seems to fall perfectly in line with what I would expect -- especially in an expensive city like Miami.
Also, if you're trying to sell the vehicle, these details can increase the value of the car tremendously.
