best option for ipod integration on pre lci idrive?
its too much hassle to change the music in my iphone physically while driving..
im thinking of ipod integration retrofit to my pre lci idrive. my car is 06 e90. then i can change the music thru idrive controller and my ipod is under the armrest. think i saw one aftermarket solution here, but cant find it and is there any oem solution for this? want rather cheaper and clean. or if, if i buy oem ipod cable, will my idrive automatically integrate my iphone to idrive? i never tried that and im using just aux cable and charger bought from apple store right now.. pics are random from googld search thank you! I recently added a Dension Gateway 500 to my 06. I use the USB stick option rather than an ipod/iphone but I believe the interface is similar. The categories/artists/albums/etc. all show up in the CD-Changer menu as if they were a giant MP3 CD (that's how the iDrive sees it).
This requires that you have CD-changer option in your VO either as already installed CDC or Retrofit. BMW mechanics can do the coding only if you have a real OEM BMW CDC as they are required to enter the part no./serial no. for the coding to work. Some indy shops can do it with AutoLogic software, or you can do it yourself with a INPA K+Can OBD cable as I did. |
