What do you use for an emergency clean?

Hi,

I want to keep a few products in the car in case I come across any emergencies such as bird bombs... spillage on the interior leather... or simply getting to work abit early and decided to have a quick clean of the windows or dashboard or bumper(bugs)!

Any suggestions would be great!

Touch-free drive through's are great. If the car is really dirty, it won't get you gleaming, but if you're a week or so from your last handwash, it's great.

Just keep some....

- Mequiars(or other) Quick Detailer to lift off emergency bird crap and the like
- Leatherique/Lexol/Meguiars leather cleaner,
- tar/bug remover spray
- quick wax spray (for some protecting after using tar remover)
- some microfiber cloths

This is all until you get home and can use better products.

I carry a plain old fashioned spray bottle of water in my trunk (and microfiber towels) for those "emergencies". It's never let me down and it won't hurt anything.

I stock a bottle of fiji water/puffs tissues with aloe in the event of bird droppings.

Plush "shag style" microfiber towels and a small spray bottle of ONR are used to clean off bombs, and a quick wax is used to add protection to the affected area.
For interior dash wipe-downs, I keep a small bottle of 1Z Cockpit Premium and a general purpose microfiber towel in the glove box.

My g/f does the same thing now that she has her car looking all clean and perfect (and she's in love with 1Z CP for having a nice fresh interior). Of course I'm happy about this after spending quite a few hours turning her car into a mirror.

Missed a few spots.

I see lots of finger prints, scratches, and stains.

She still your g/f after that shoddy job??

Aves bomb First Aid Kit- use a 1:20 Optimum No-Rinse (ONR) / distilled water solution in a fine mist spray bottle. The surfactants it contains encapsulate and trap bird and insect excrement, dry surface dust, or light dirt particles making them virtually non-abrasive and it can be used without causing scratches (check contents periodically as heat will evaporate the contents if stored in the car’s trunk).. Apply with a long nap micro fibre towel using very little surface pressure, dusting with long strokes in one direction only. For stubborn stains, soak the micro fibre towel and allow it to remain i n place for a few minutes and then wipe away the debris.

ceb's emergency bird bomb removal.

While not ideal, it is much better than letting the bird "bomb" sit on your paint on a sunny day.

Get a paper towel, toilet paper or a wad of Kleenex soaking wet (add a bit of soap)

place this wad of dripping wet paper on the bomb and let it sit while you run errands.

When you return (leave it at least 5 minutes,) "pinch" the residue off, going towards the center of the bomb rather than dragging it over your paint.

Finish the cleaning using proper products when you get home.
