Anyone bought a Euro Tow Bar assembly?
Hi all, im doing investigation for a suitable tow bar setup, and ive already read some posts here about people being quoted $4k for a complete tow/wiring setup. eek.
I noticed in the other parts of this forum, many Europeans are using Westfalia or Witter tow assemblies, and they seem to be really good. The tow bar either retracts under the bumper or removes entirerly. When its not out/fitted, the kit isn't visible at all. There's a video here: And a thread here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266844 - one guy fitted it himself with a CANBUS bypass for the electrics. Another, got a Witter with the right wiring kit that disables the reverse PDC and works with the cars electrics completely (no bypassing). Anyway, just wondering if anyone has done this before? I fitted my own tow-bar assembly and wiring to an 08 Toyota Kluger without any trouble. I suspect with the Euro version of this setup, Id need the 7 pin wiring kit, the Tow ball itself, I believe is the ISO 50mm diameter same for Europe and Aus. -Scott. |
