so i put in a cd....
I have idrive and when I saw the scroll wheel for the tracks I looked above and I saw cd with left and right arrows next to it. No it was not the am fm cd aux line but in fact the line right under that.
When I highlighted cd and went to the left I saw dvd. However its grayed out. I'm guessing its because I don't have a dvd in there. But I also thought that there might be an addon I don't have. I'm not home now so I cane pop in a dvd. However, is the car equipped with a dvd player, I doubt it, but who knows? I'm thinking it might play the dvd soundtrack or the audio to the movie. Thanks |

If you pop out the nav DVD, you can put an MP3/WAV DVD in there. Just like you can play an MP3 CD, only more files. Or at least, that's what people say. I have yet to do it, since CDs hold plenty of MP3s for me and I'd rather have the nav functioning.

thanks for the replies guys.
that would have been a nice little feature to have, then again, my navigation system in my old car could play DVDs, aftermarket, and i rarely used it. i just thought it would be a cool feature to have in a stock setup. oh well. every car that i have owned in the past i have tried to modify something. whether it was a stock item or an an aftermarket item i always play around with it and end up doing something i don't like or breaking something and getting mad that i tried to alter something on/in the car. so at this point i would love to read about someone converting that to a DVD player or even see some pictures, but that is something that i don't plan on doing. thanks again. |

thanks.
i did a search yesterday. i read some posts and saw that video with the guy that installed the tv2nav thing. pretty cool, but it looks like a lot of work for something i dont really want and i didnt think the resolution looked all that great. basically, i was just trying to see if we had some DVD capabilities with the stock system. no biggie for me. thanks guys. |
