Is FMR3 module for lci tail light necessary?

I've been reading a lot into the forums about swapping the old e92 tail lights for the new LCI led taillights and i was wondering about the necessity of changing the FMR2 module for a FMR3 module. After emailing Aleks Shop here in the bay area i was told that the module doesn't need to be replaced and instead it can just be coded. Reading into the retrofit that EAS does it seems like the module must be replaced. I was wondering if anyone knows a little more about this and could help me out. Thanks!

No you don't need to replace the FRM module anymore. It is possible to do the coding without replacing it. Contact Tom at EAS he is very familiar with the Autologic system used to do the coding. He took care of my LCI taillight conversion. Great service from him.
