Production already?

I ordered my 328 Sedan on Monday April 9.
I called the 800# and my production is scheduled for April 17th

WOW that was quick.
After production on April 17, how long before it gets to NY?
and how do I find out what ship it is on?

First off, congratulations!

I would figure 3-4 weeks before you get "The Call"

There is a tracking and ordering guide post as a sticky. You'll find all the information you'll need there.

Best Regards,

Yep, it looks like E90 are getting produced faster... or my dealer had too many recent production slots !!!

We ordered an E90 328i (for my brother) on 3/27, it started production on 3/30.
Unfortunately dealer missed an option on that.
So they orderd another one for us on 4/2 and it started production 4/5 !!!
Its due complete today !!! :rocks:

Anyways, congrats on your car. And welcome to the board...

You are really lucky, congrats! All of us with 335 orders are getting screwed with waiting for production.

My 335 got bumped up 3 weeks. Started production week 15 (4/10) when originally the estimated production start week was week 18.

That is awesome! Did it just happen out of the blue? Mine is also scheduled for week 18 according the customer service people, but the automated message still says no confirmed build date.

Yes - It was a total suprise. I didn't think production was until May, I got the full printout in the mail from my CA with production weeks, and then I called yesterday (normally I call every day, but skipped a day for some reason). It said your vehicle is in production. I couldn't believe it so I got a rep on the phone and it was correct. She says those printouts are just estimated dates and they must have had an open slot to move my car in earlier.

Thanks. I have been driving around in a toyota corolla for about 11 months now. Only 5-6 weeks left of that. I talked myself into getting a commuter car and I just can't do it, not after having a 3 coupe with sports package...oh well.

Interesting. The dealership and BMWNA (800#) both said Week 16 for my car all along. I checked this morning and my car went into production 4/12 with a estimated completion date of 4/20. So in my experience, the 800# message only changed the day my car went into production - apparently once the car starts production they estimate the completion date and the 800# message for your car is updated.

I was under the impression that it would change ahead of time, but it didn't in my case... So if your build week is the week of April 30th, your message should change sometime during the week of April 23.

The thing that sucks worst is that no amount of information makes the wait any easier. This is just the first step in a long process of WAITING.

Hurry up and WAIT!!!!!!

I guess I need to call the number myself. I called last wek and it still says no confirmed production date. My CA said I was week 18. I was thinking of adding HD radio, so I guess I'll have to call tomorrow and see what's up. Maybe it will come early after all........ yeah right!

6-8 weeks is more likely until you get it. I ordered on 2/27 and it's estimated arrival to dealership is 4/22-25.
