Infinity Basslink subwoofer - will it work?

I'm pretty new to the audio scene with these cars. A friend of mine gave me this Infinity Basslink Sub which came out of his E46 or maybe E36 BMW. It worked and was wired for his car. Is there any easy way to make it work in a 2006 E90 sedan?

i like the basslink
easy to install
but if you're going to use it, i'd use thicker gauge wire
i'd say 8 ga

what sound system do you have?

Yupp. But as Kmarei suggested....I would use thicker gauge.

You should search for the "ultimate subwoofer guide" or something along those lines for proper installation.

I had this Basslink way way back in the day. For what it is, it performs OK. Do not expect this unit to put out some serious bass. It performs better in a hatch back rather than a car with a trunk where the sub frequencies (80 HZ and below) may fight to penetrate the rear deck and seat.

I do agree with the others regarding the gauge wire. Step up to the 8 (negative and positive wires) and you're helping system's overall power performance. A small diameter straw to a large diameter straw analogy, A larger diameter straw's flow of energy will flow easier than smaller diameter (which is more restrictive, increases OHM) straw which hinders the system's energy demands or performance.
