Does Anyone Have An E93 With Alarm System Installed ??
HELP !!
After THREE attempts ot install my alarm over a 4 week period I am now being told by the dealer that the alarm system DOES NOT INCLUDE INTERIOR MOTION SENSORS. The manual and other information specifically discusses these motion sensors and how they operate with the top up and down. DOES ANYONE OUT THER HAVE AN E93 WITH MOTION SENSORS THAT WORKS AS DESCRIBED IN THE MANUAL ?? IF YES CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THE ALARM SYSTEM COST YOU AND IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES WITH IT ?? THX >......

The alarm is standard equipment over here. Yes it does have motion sensors and yes they do work as described in the manual. You can turn them off with the roof down if you want. To date I've not had any problems roof up or down with the sensors on or off.

Sounds like if you are able to get it as a factory installed option you get the sensors. Unfortunately for us in the US it is not an option for factory install and we just get the pre-wiring. Dealer installation does not install the sensors. Therefor getting the alarm in the US is sort of a waste.

OK - here is the FINAL skinny on the alarm system and motion sensors.
According to BMW the MOTION SENSORTS are NOT available in the USA in the E93. No one seems to know why for sure but they are not avaialble. SInce it took 3 times to get my alarm system installed correctly and I was told that the MOTION SENSORS were included BMW is refunding the cost of my alarm system to me. I am a little upset over the fact that I do not have the MOTION SENSORS as that is the main reason I purchased the alarm in the first place but I think that a total refund is adequate compensation. I will continue to check DIY to see if anyone has determined a method to procure and install these sensors.
