EVO 4G disconnects randomly on iDrive
Hi all,
I have a 2011 335xi w/ iDrive that I paired my Sprint/HTC Evo 4G to (running Android 2.2 w/ latest patches). My phone connects fine and transfers contacts and all but randomly during calls will disconnect and the sound goes back to the phone. In order to get it back working, I have to turn off and on my bluetooth a couple times (on the phone) then go back into the telephone screen, try connecting a couple times and eventually it works. It's so frustrating as this can happen like 3 or 4 times during a one hour drive and seems like more of a distraction to me as the driver than a way to avoid distractions (not so hands free when I am switching on/off bt). Any ideas? Thanks. |

Is your Evo rooted? if Yes which rom are you using?
I have no such issues with a 003 HW version Evo running Myns 2.2 Rls 4. Latest radio(s) and PRI/PRL. |

Why would I downgrade my phone and service while upgrading my monthly bill?
Haha, please lets not turn this into an Android vs. iPhone thread, I'd really like this to get resolved. I did just order an iPod touch though for use in the car, maybe it will soften me up to an iPhone over time. |

I'm guessing you also tried with a freshly restored phone to stock rom (assuming that since you probably had to restore to use custom roms anyway)? If so, do you want maybe put together a list of apps and we can share and discuss them, maybe you and I are using a common app or two that could be causing this somehow? That's all I can think of since some people reported when I asked the question on xda-developers that they have never had the issue.

Had the same issues with an HTC EVO (Sprint) and my 2011.5 M3. The phone would pair, begin to transfer the contacts, and then drop the connection.
Today (12/15), I applied the HTC software update that was just released (version 3.70.651.1) - go to 'HTC software update' under 'System Updates'. The release notes didn't specify anything about bluetooth enhancements but either way, it now pairs, transfers the phone book, allows calls, and audio streaming - all without dropping. Try unpairing the device on the EVO (hold down on the BMW device name on the phone and select unpair), then try re-pairing after applying the update. Worked for me. |

Any more updates regarding this? I might switch to Sprint and get an EVO.

Yup, I did a hard reset on my phone and now no disconnects, must have been something that happened over the past few months since my last hard reset, maybe bad software or something...but i think i installed everything i had previously
