need help with audio - bass/amp questions.
Ok so to start off i have an 07 335i with navi and a nice audio system but it does not satisfy me, i have always liked a little more sound and a nice deep bass in my cars. My first thought was to get a better amp and install it to the stock system, but being that my girlfriend bought me a kicker 750 mono amp for christmas, i now have more budget space so i bought the JL audo 12w6. Originally i was gonna get the stealthbox but it is just too much $$
So my question is will this setup sound good in our cars? a jl audio 12w6 with a kicker 750 amp... and my other question is will i be able to do this while connecting the kicker amp to the stock speakers to give it a little more power... and how would this be done? i am a long time viewer of this forum but just became a member! thanks for your help |

Technic's harness hooks up in between the OEM amp and the OEM wiring and allows for the connection of an aftermarket amp without any splicing or cutting of OEM wires. Also, he provides an LOC which takes the hi-level signal from the amp and converts it to low-level which is what the input of your amp requires. A mono amp can only amplify one channel so it is only for the sub.

Not without changing the speakers
Not without changing the speakers to something that will handle the power and
make good use of it. I think numbers show that you will blow the OEM speakers and you won't be able to get use of the full capacity of the Amp. Technic lives in Florida you might want to go see him he can set you up. My feeling is that you have to fix the weak points of the old system before you can start adding more stuff , but thats my view. Last edited by ctuna; 01-17-2011 at 02:15 PM.. |

I have no experience with large subs or small ones
You will have to do searches there are some sub threads here.
there are some DIY's here http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16 there was a thread called the ultimate sub install either here or on the above set of links in the DIY section |

I sent him a heads up on this thread
He must be having a vacation or something he usually responds pretty quickly.
There was another guy having the same problem in one of these threads and he listed an Email address but I don't know which thread. |
