Is this normal for the headlights

So last week, I brought my car for some engine lights to the shop, but after i got the car back, I realized that there were some difference with my old light settings. I am wondering is this normal.

so heres the headlight control unit, i marked 1,2,3,4 on them.

here is what 1 looks like:

2:

3:

4:
.

The reason why i think something is changed is because I never see those yellow lights, (highbeam or lowbeam i do not know), and know they are on even with control put to the 2nd mode.

SO my question is that IS THIS NORMAL? The guy work at BMW told me that it is the safe light which suppose to be on, but I never see them on my car before. Can those yellow bulbs get coded off? or BMW dealer can code them off? Thanks

My car is e90 330xi, 2006.

Terry~

Turn off your DRL, parking light is normal to have your high beams run at 6volts. Those are your day time running lights.

you don't need to code

just go into your OBC and turn them off

i'm not sure how to do it through idrive, but if you don't have idrive, use the stalk on the left side of the steering wheel that has a little lever thing.

At the main menu you would click down (i) and go to lighting. Turn off Day time operation? lights.....something like that.

OP, the shop re-initialized your footwell module which controls most of the lighting in your car. This is what triggered the DRLs to become activated....as they are mandated in the US so by default, they are active.

DRL's are not running at 6v. They are 12V with the square wave signal. The high beam gets rid of the square wave for a full 12v

Is a square weave signal that same as the halogen high beams running at 25% power for DRLs?

I read that somewhere here.....that the DRLs are the halogen high beams at 25% power.
