PDC Retrofit
Hey everyone! I have 2011 328i and I was think about adding park distance control. It already has I drive (navigation system) and when I looked up the part number online (66209225825) I only found it for the rear. From what I know, the newer PDC units should also come with a front as well. Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit PDC (I don't have the button for it on the front panel) and if so, what is the approximate cost using all OEM parts? Secondly, do you guys think that it is worth it? Thanks in advance!
I don't have any of the buttons in the bottom row. http://img2.netcarshow.com/BMW-3-Ser...llpaper_1b.jpg

Nevermind, after some searching, I found the part (part#: 66209225824) and I think this includes both front and back. (If anyone would like to confirm)
So basically, If I was going to order PDC for installation, then I would order the parts: 66209225824 PDC Control Unit (for Navigation) 66206969139 Trigger Contact PDC (X 2) 66206938777 Bracket Loud Speaker 51417059617 Fillister head self-tapping screw 07119904022 Hex nut 63171367868 Expanding nut 66216938079 Adapter PDC speaker 61138364666 Universal socket housing uncoded 61130006663 Brushing Contact 61138364662 Covering cap 18 POL. 61138364664 Socket housing 61138364652 Covering cap 12 POL. 61138366260 Terminal socket MQS ELA 66206935598 Ultrasonic-sensors (Alpine White Colored) [8 included] 66206923000 Decoupling ring PDC torque converter After all this, I would have to take it to a BMW Center for installation/coding Total = $604.37 + Delivery Cost + Installation Fee (Someone please check.) So, all of this now only leads to one question, is it worth it?

I retrofitted rear PDC to a 2005 E90 about three weeks ago and it is not a job I'd like to be paying an hourly rate on. It took me all up probably a day and a half but the EBA says that rear is 3.5 hours and with front 5.5 hours. Even though I have now done the job I still couldn't do it in 3.5 hours.
It is nice to have, just ask them for the price and then weigh up if it is worth it to you. |
