New car

I have just started playing with my new 335I coupe, with idrive, but cannot seem to get the voice commands to work. When i press either voice command button (on the steering whhel or console) nothing happens, anybody else ever have this problem? I went through idrive to saee if there was a setting i had to pick but all i found was the setting for voice instrutions from navigation. WTF?

There should be an audible tone when you press the voice button.

If not, then you may be in the same boat as some of us who just got the latest software upgrade: no voice commands.

There is supposed to be a fix soon.

It may be two different things but I had the same problem on my M3. No voice commands and the bluetooth pairing was hit and miss. It was a control module issue and it took 4 weeks for the part to arrive (seemed to be a issue effecting alot of cars).

If you didn't get the BMW assist either in the premium package or as a stand alone option..so if you got that take ya car back if ya didn't..uh oh

Are voice commands an option in Canada? They are in Europe... are you sure you have them to begin with?

Otherwise - good luck with speedy resolution!

According to the premium package it is included in canada, plus i have the buttons for it, i think it is a programming problem. By the way Led, i didn't get the idrive buttons, i guess i was built a week earlier, Damn.

The buttons are nice finchman, but don't agonize... they're just buttons. Must be a software problem then. Hope they get it resolved for you quickly!
