ETHANOL FREE gasoline!!!

Just an FYI for Portland -metro area people,
I found a gas station selling ethanol free gas in all grades at the pump

it is on Mclaghlin Blvd. (99E) on the west side (forgot the name) but has green paint trim. south of the Bomber but north of Fred Meyers price last week was 3.18 gal. 92 oct. non-ethanol

i wonder if this would be similar to 93 oct. w/ ethanol???

Doesn't make a difference for the fuel pump, makes a difference for fuel economy. Ethanol has a lower energy content than gasoline.

It is my understanding that there is a Federal regulation to have a given percentage of gasoline in the United States blended with ethanol. That does not mean that all gasoline must be blended, just a certain amount. And, frankly, I do not know what Federal agency enforces that nor the specifics of the regulation.

In the State of Oregon (and some other states), gasoline with a 91 or greater antiknock index (premium) may be sold without ethanol for use in any application. If it is less than 91 octane, then non-ethanol blended gasoline can only be used for a list of very specific applications. Otherwise, gasoline in Oregon is required by statute to contain 10% by volume ethanol. Even with the exemptions noted, the grand majority of gasoline in Oregon is a 10% ethanol blend.

And just for information, there is movement within the U.S. to increase the allowed percent of ethanol in gasoline from 10% by volume (which is the current maximum for gasoline) to 15% and perhaps even 20% by volume.

its funny they are diluting out gasoline we pay for with this crap but you know they wont lower the cost of the gas 10% in a way they are further ripping us off

update:
Olson Brothers Tire Factory
14115 SE McLoughlin Ave.
Oak Grove, OR

It's just south of the bomber a block past Courtney Avenue. The station is painted bright lime green so it's hard to miss.
