You are correct. Nobody is going to be able to crack something properly encrypted with 1024 bit RSA (at least without having a supercomputer run for several years uninterrupted). Its much more likely that someone has the keys or BMW didn't do a very good job with the encryption.

That isn't anything new.

This was done about 10 years ago by a Canadien with NDS's smart card for DirecTV. First it was glitches etc...to get into the smart chip to then put an emulator on there to have your own assembly code.

But a real smart guy did exactly what he is doing, he removed the chip, and the layers, tapped into it and then was able to read the code, what it was doing etc...

He was sued, RCMP raided his outfit...they pressed charges etc...I think he settled and decided to work with NDS to help them improve their engineers lack of knowledge to make an uncrackable smart card for DTV..which they did...game over.

It is defintely a way to get past the encryption, by listening right on the board when it is passing communications on the bus.

Congrats on med school, but college is kindergarten in comparison if you actually want to be something other than a family practitioner. You've a LONG way to go yet.

Heh, well don't let her psych you out. It sucks, but the first two years are the hard part. You can do it for 4 semesters more (though at times you will feel you can't lol)

Never had an issue flashing N54 or N55 DME, so why even bother posting this? The reason you guys cannot boost more than 14-15 psi, it's cause not all aka tooner have an idea how to tune the Bosch or Siemens DME to 100% even if you use the Dimsport.
