Off topic Question: e46 custom Angel eyes turn into night light

Hi, I have a e46 Umnitza angel eyes off a e46 m3. I have two rings from one headlight. I wanted to custom it into a night lamp or to get it on. How Do i accomplish this? The ring is U shaped and it has 2 wires on each end of the ring. Both red and black on each side. I tried carious of combinations of tapping it to a battery but does not light up. Any help would be appreciated.

You can find a 12v adapter at radio shack or someplace similar. Find one that is close to the same size as you cell phone charger
