Hi people,

I seem to have this problem with my 2010 320d

Its summer now so I only can really test the cold air. Ambient temp is 28
If I turn the temp to say 22deg and auto the footwell is always really warm. The air coming out of the foot is warm, but the body airvent is nice and cool just the way it should be
If I turn it to 22 deg manual, so I choose the body + foot: Cool air from body as it should, but foot is warm
If I turn it to 22 deg foot only: foot is warm air. No air from the rest of vent so the car becomes very warm

If I turn it to 18 deg body + foot = freezing air to body, cold air from foot
If I turn it to 18 foot only = cool air from foot

So it seems the thermostat or whatever is controlling the climate control has significant discrepancy between the body and the foot.

what could be causing this? is this a software issue? or a hardware issue?

I think the problem with hot air always coming in is when the microfilters are getting dirty and not allowing for outside air to come in. Check yours and make sure it's clean.

That lil knob or swivel (circled in red) thing by the door lock button/hazard lights button/dtc button turn that to the desired setting. I have mine right in the middle.
