Walked U is onto something...rumor is that if you yell Vtech at the later shift points, you achieve something like an extra 20 pounds torque + horsepower; but you have to time it precisely or it does not work.

One of the most informative message boards I participate in is the Skyline section of the Nissan board FreshAlloy.com (sorry for mentioning another website, but I felt it necessary to include). The Nissan Skyline GT-R happens to have a twin turbo inline 6 engine. There are certainly things that can be learned from the RB26DETT and applied to the N54 engine. There are a lot of technically knowledgable people that share their knowledge about the GT-R. They are people who care to learn about every aspect of the car and motor. There is no poking fun or bashing of other vehicles. There is respect.
I hope to post here and contribute knowledge to other 335i enthusiasts. I am an engineer, I spend all day thinking about this stuff. However it is a bit frustrating when there is no further contribution to any discussion. I see a lot of the same repetition. Plus there is no reason to bash Japanese cars as ricer burners. It doesn't make BMW drivers look good. Respect Honda for what they have done. They developed VTEC, which caused BMW to develop VANOS. While more recently Honda and Toyota have been focusing on fuel economy and efficiency you can't ignore their performance innovations that lead to the features you can't live without today.

That always makes me laugh...I timed it too; the guy started at 5 sec. and hit 60mph at 15 sec!!! WOW...0-60mph in 10 sec.!!!!! j/k "V-TECH...Oh, sh!t, that's fast!"

See...the problem was the timing of the "V-TECH" exclamation...i think he just missed it and lost about 5 secs on that 0 - 60. Shiyat, that's hard evidence proving my point on the money. Rumor is true apparently. V-TECH! However, if you shout "VANOS" you get about 50 lbs torque and h/p. VANOS...shit that's fast!

Ok so that video was amusing. I am trying to figure out why someone felt compelled to post that on You Tube in the first place though... ah well.
As for the dyno chart I posted it belongs to this car: I would show a good dyno of an RB26DETT outfitted with twins such as HKS GT2530 turbos, but I couldn't find anything but a couple blurry pictures of a monitor displaying the chart. Matching the right twin turbo upgrade to an engine makes for good turbo response, a nice flat torque curve, and more power. Of course a nice big single turbo will get you big power, but you can't have both response and rediculous power. That is being greedy.
