Seriously think fuel pump is going south for summer...
As I have read...one of the first symptoms of the fuel pump failing is the longer and longer crank times when hitting the start button. Well, today it got longer and longer to start the car. I started it about 8 times today...the last time leaving Safeway after going to the gym it musta cranked for at least 8 seconds before actually starting the engine. Not too psyched about the car right about now. I am not looking forward to a 4-6 week wait time on a revised fuel pump...btw, I use to be a service advisor at an Audi/Porsche dealer...anyone actually got a replacement pump yet..I dont remember anyone ever posting that yet. bummer.

Join the club buddy! A lot of us are still waiting for new pumps. Sorry to hear the bad news but since everyone's 335is seems to be dropping like flies, I'm not surprised your finally gave too. Just be thankful you didn't get stranded in the middle of no where with a broken pump!

I suggest calling your dealer and getting schedule for a check up as soon as possible and get your name on the list for fuel pumps already! Good luck buddy! all the best and do keep us updated on your progress.

The dealer is unlikely to do anything until you pop a yellow code. That said, they might reprogram for the long start problem, if that makes you feel any better.
Long starts would be consistent with my hypothesis that the pump goes bad if there is an air leak. You might want to have them pressure test the fuel system.

This would be one of the first cases of a sedan's pump failing. All the others have been coupes so far.

I'm getting the same thing as the OP. Although not as severe, like 8 seconds to start. My car is also a sedan...E90 6speed 335i. Produced in 1/07

you guys that are noticing that your starting times are getting longer... you should go to the dealer and get them to update your software. It may be the way to prevent the pump from going to failure. Word has it that some of the fuel pumps may going south due to noise in sensors or faulty sensors.
