The 2 easiest questions ever asked...

Quite simply, is there a visual difference between the N54 and N55? I mean, can you spot the new N55 immediately when you pop the hood - different engine shroud, etc?

If I buy a 2010 335i is it definately going to have the N54?

Thanks!

Yes, it is very easy to tell the N54 from the N55 as soon as you pop the hood. The answer to your second question is also "yes"; if you purchase a 2010 model, you will definitely get the N54 motor.

The n55 clearly states "twin power turbo" and the n54 has a waffle maker under the intake.
