Gas leaking when I filled car up, want to know why?

So for the past 6 months, I had been throwing a 2A15 code, which means leak in fuel tank. I'm thinking okay, I still have warranty, I'll take the tune out and then clear codes and get the code to pop back up, I couldn't get the code to pop up. I could only trigger it with the tune, so I assumed it had something to do with the JB3.

Well it didn't, when I went to go put new tires on my car about a month ago, I realized what had happened.

I kept dumping a solid gallon of gas at the gas station everytime I went to fill up, which really was pissing me off.

My 1 was lowered pretty low in the back, and i would get the occasional rub when I had multiple passengers in the car, or if I hit a dip in the road with those passengers. What had happened is the tire had rubbed its way through the liner and had rubbed its way through my filler pipe. There was a solid hole, about 3 inches long and an inch wide at the worst part. Of course it had been my suspension which caused the problem, so I didn't even bother getting it warrantied. The filler pipe was about $170 and installation took about 3 hours or so to get it all finished. But I left two pictures for you guys to get a laugh out at me

the gas leak only occured in the filler pipe, so only when i was filling her up at the gas station. I was lowered about two inches in the rear, never ever ever again will that be the case. this just goes to show for anyone who wants to slam their car retarded low, there will be consequences.

Is the filler pipe plastic? I wonder if you have plastic shavings in your tank? I'm guessing it wasn't metal because you probably would have noticed a little boom if it ever sparked...

It's made of plastic, yes. And there could be a good chance that I have some plastic shavings in the tank.
