Do my tips stick out too far?
*UPDATE* See my last post
I got my stock exhaust put back on about a month ago and cant decide if my tips stock out too far. I dropped the car off at the muffler shop and told them to just line up the hangers and figured everything would be fine. I looked under the car and the hangers seemed to line up pretty darn close. Its such a hassle to get it to the muffler shop since I live alone and work all day during the week. I notice they stick out further than stock, maybe 3/4". In a way it kind of seems sportier. I don't know what do you think? Does it mimic the performance exhaust? Thanks Last edited by dscharrer; 02-12-2011 at 10:42 AM.. |

I think he's trying to show that there's too much tip (nip in the picture) showing. I have to disagree about the picture, but agree that you need the tips to stick out less.

Define worth it?
If its free, or if you want to, go for it. If you want to pay for them to fix it, go for it. If the car drives fine.... dont worry about it. The tips always stick out farther when the car is hot FYI. |

Do you have downpipes? The hangers alone shouldn't make them stick out that far. I would guess that the downpipes - where the stock single piece rear section connects - are too long. Unless you just had your mufflers cut off like some exhausts do, then it would be that they welded the stock on back on too far out.

IMO... don't worry about it. Not enough of a difference to worry about really.

I went back to the muffler shop this morning. I printed off some pictures of what it was suppose to look like. They fixed me up free of charge. I measured the tips and they stick out 1.25" from the top of the cutout which is where they need to be. I chatted with the owner and he was really nice about everything and it wasn't that big of a deal.
Thanks for all your guys input. Definitely way better than before.. |

If you didn't point it out, I wouldn't focus on such a minute detail.
