BMWActivatethefuture.com's second episode is now online. Dubbed "The Future Just Isn't What It Used To Be," takes a critical look at some of the industry’s earliest predictions for the evolution of planes and automobiles to understand why aviation has progressed much further than automobiles even though both are roughly the same age. The short documentary evaluates which predictions we got right, which can be improved, which should be changed and why we are unlikely to ever travel in a flying car despite our many attempts to build one.

We have this already, its called a Cessna. People can fly them if they go through the training. You want everyone to fly to work? Seriously? People haven't even learned to drive yet.

They should firs make a supercar to compete with r8 and sls amg!!

Whoever said these so called "flying cars" will be driven/controlled by a person? There is enough technology today (but still needs much more improvements) to have these things be fully controlled and operated by computers. But I wouldn't want them in my life time. It'd take the fun out of driving.

Did you watch the whole short-film? It wasn't about wanting flying cars... it was about the need for change in the way we view the "automobile" and BMW is likely trying to position themselves for a radical design that will push the boundaries. It will be awkward at first - laughed at by some and praised by others. Over time, it could be the ground-breaker that the world needs. Time will tell.
