staying on North Michigan Ave. something close would be better. Looking for a cool place to eat... any one from Chicago here with a good reco... Not looking to go to a upscale place but rather a good place to go with co-workers to have some good food and drinks.... |

Exactly.
Really good beer/wine list too. It's crazy, when you get there imediatly the light is really off-putting because its so warm, but after you start eating, drinking, etc. the atmosphere completely changes... so hard to describe. Definitly an experience you can't get anywhere else IMO and quintisentially mid-western. If you want more susi/pan-asian then Japonais is really good, especially for larger groups (because the restaraunt is huge). Though, its not really "Chicago" since they have one in NY. It'd give you a good mix of environments too which for what it's worth I think makes a night out seem better than just sitting in a dark room from 8pm-2am. *shrug* If it were me I'd hit up a place like Publican and then head over to the Crimson lounge (in the Sax Hotel) for after dinner drinks. Great place with a cool vibe. Excellent music and drinks, but you can still talk to people cause it's not overly crowded and loud. Pics of the Crimson Lounge.
