extended warranty available to Canada?

I am planning to keep my car for long, I haven't purchased extended warranty at the purchase time. now I have about 2.5 years or 50k KM till warranty runs out.
when can I purchase extended warranty that goes upto 100k KM?

I was told by my CA, that you can buy an extended warranty up to 6yr/160000km as long as the original 4yr 80000km is still valid.

sweet, and I assume the cost varies from dealers.....

Note that the last time I checked, the extended warranty was from a third party, not from BMW Canada. Read the all the details and fine print before you purchase.

I recently checked with my dealer for a 2008 and there is no BMW extended warranty.

My dealer used to offer a third party warranty but actually stopped selling it because they rarely paid. I've had personal experience with a 3rd party warranty and it's a f'in nightmare. They find every excuse not to pay.

My only option is to have the dealer CPO the car for $3500.

They also mentioned that for 2011 BMW Canada has started offering extended warranties again.

I'd love to know what happened.
