Where can I fix my wheel NYC??

Hit a decent sized pot hole the other day. My wheel is bent. Where can I go for a quick fix? Recommendations?

If you want it done fast, Al's Hubcaps in Queens.

I have had a few wheels repaired by Proformance Industries in New Rochelle. They do top notch work. I have my 2 piece Voiks repaired by them and they are about to redo a set of used HRE's i just purchased.

Question ... What does "fixing" a bent wheel entail? Can this be done on OEM wheels?

I've been back and forth to the dealer 4 times for a shimmy in my steering wheel. They keep saying the wheels is bent, but balance the tire and say its gone. I get back the car back and drive it for a week and its back.

What they do is heat the wheel so they can work with it and use a machine that straitens it out.

Any negative future effects?

I'll stick to my original sentence. Al's for the most parts get good reviews but I also know one or two people who didn't have great experience. But at least he backs his work...

Me personally, time and money aside I'd ship my wheels to Wheel Collision Center (WCC) in Pa, but they are not cheap.

It all depends.. some places will charge you less but that's mainly because its mostly a cosmetic job. If you want the wheel repaired then you want to go somewhere like i mentioned: Proformance Industries in New Rochelle. Granted they are not cheap.. but you will get a quality job.

I had my wheels redone by a place in LI once and they charged me $100 per wheels.. well thats because they used crappy paint on the mags and it ended up coming off fairly easily. Proformance powder coats the wheels and really does an A+ job. Major celebrities go there like Lloyd banks and some NY Giants players so you know the work is good.

I just purcahsed some used HRE's off of a member in CAli.. i can tell from the pics they arent in great shape so i am brining them to proformance to be completely repaired, straitened and will redo the whole thing in matte black.

Ill post a thread on it once i get started.

I got it fixed at 20 INCHES OR BETTER RIMS & TIRE SHOP 998 Rogers avenue in brooklyn. Great place friendly service. They charged me $45 and did it in a half hour!! I went to a couple other places. One in staten island quoted me $150 and another place in brooklyn quoted me $95.

Yep, I usually get mine for $40 down at my spot. PM me for it. Just did it Thursday night actually.

Other places rape on prices and may do the same. Al's offers to repaint which i like but too pricey.

It is in LI, it's right near the intersection of Herricks Rd & Jericho Tpk, next to commerce bank & Panera

Al's highly recommended. fixed my curbs in just a few hrs. u really can't go wrong with them. I go go them for all my wheel needs (yes even if i'm in NH/MA right now...an excuse to go visit the fam )

I could NOT disagree more.
I 2 used ALS because everyone on here recommended him.
After having him powder coat my wheels and selling me his wheel cleaning product I noticed that there where several dry spots on my wheels (not enough powder coating on them).
Also it chipped the same day I got the car back from his shop on 6 separate spots on all but one rim.
They chipped as if they where painted not powder coated.
I took the car back to him and he said Np they are covered, problem was i couldn't have them redone for about a month because of work.
Anyways a month later I hit a pothole from hell and had him repair it for me while he repowder coated them.
Well I still have the wheel noise from the bent rim, the rims werent prepared before hand so you see the chipped spots under the new powder coating.
If it where just the original 6 spots I might have been able to live with it but by the time I got them back to him there when about 6-7 chips per rim.
also the dry spots are still there.
if you like i can sent you pics once i get car back from the shop.
needless to say im have the wheels done for the third time now, this time from another shop alltogether.

to be fair, i wouldn't even take my rims to be powdercoated by him in the first place, only curbs/mounts/installs/balancing
