Seriously, they are a great tyre, tremendous dry grip and not much less so in the wet.

The only reason I swapped out from them was that they were a bit too stiff for my taste on low profiles and when combined with my uprated suspension.

Should be fine on stock profiles/suspension I think.

Thats right willo but I did run them at much less pressure and they were still stiff.

Mr Bird himself sampled them on the car post suspension upgrade and observed the same.

Nuff said.

Just fitted a set of Ultrac Sessantas today on 18s replacing RFTs. Only a short drive back from the tyre place but mightily impressed so far on the improvement in ride quality (330i SE Touring). Night and day.

Anyone have any suggestions for optimum tyre pressures for general driving (i.e. not high speed cornering)?

Stick with what it says on the door card for non run flats.

32/35 in my case. Nice blend of precision and comfort.

Although initially sceptical, I adopted a less dismissive attitude and 10 days after having my tyres filled with nitrogen, I remain convinced of a significantly enhanced road feel through the steering wheel.
A definite improvement and, regardless of the fact that BMW were paying, well worth £1.25 per wheel at Kwik-Fit.

I have run Sessantas on my E39 M5 for the last couple of years, compared to the Conti SC2 it came on they are outstanding, they transformed front end grip. Can't say as I've found them to have soft side walls, certainly give sharp turn in etc. They are very very good in the wet, perhaps not the quietest tyre in the world though but far better than memories I have of Bridestones on an E46 M3. They last well, approx 15k miles for the rears and double that on the front, given that and the price they are excellent value.

Best Wishes
Ian
