Interesting wastegate fix/issue involving procede and mr.5 fix
Hey guys ever since i've gotton my ar dp's installed i've struggled with wastegate rattle. I've tried tightening the actuator rod and also the procede rattle fix.
I've tightened my actuator and that fixed it. Drove it fine for probably a week, then didn't drive the car for a week and the first start it was back. I tightened it last night, it went away, but now i can hear it starting to come back. (its cold here aswell) I also tried the procede fix and that works with the rattle letting off the gas, but there is still a slight rattle all the time (like it is barely tapping the side even when completely open). What i'm thinking is that by tightening the rod as by mr.5's guide (probably did it a total of 2-3 turns) that it has caused the procede fix to not work. Heres a pic of what i think is happening: Without procede fix or mr.5 (stock rattles) / / ( <---turbo wall) / -| (<--- actuator "closed" rattling) / / (inside turbo) / Tightened by mr.5 method / / ( <---turbo wall) / | (<--- actuator closed completley with no rattle / / (inside turbo) / Procede fix as intended (without rod being tightened at all) / / ( <---turbo wall) / ----| (<--- actuator completely open not touching anything) / / (inside turbo) / Procede fix COMBINED with tightening rod / / ( <---turbo wall) / --| (<--- actuator "Open" but still close to wall due to tightening) / / (inside turbo) / So bascially by tightening the rod in order to make it seal completly when closed, i'm thinking it may be casue it to rattle slightly when fully open (via procede fix). So i'm thinking by LOOSENING the actuator rod (back to where it does rattle, like before i touched it) and then putting the procede fix in place (wastegates open at idle) I'm thinking this may resolve the issue and fix it just like on shiv's car. Going to try this tomorrow Of coarse this could all be bullshit and my wastegates are actual toast/actuator failing and I need to take it to the dealer, but i think if i put my stock downpipes back on I won't be able to hear due to the cats. Plus i don't want to pay to have them swapped again. Anyone have any input?

Just my 2 cents!! Before I install my AR DP the rattle sound was very low! After DP it screamed but after I change my stock DVs the rattle sounds like it did on stock DPs

It Worked
Not sure if this is old news and I'm repeating it. The Mr.5 wastegate rattle fix by adjusting the arm on the rear wastegate worked for me. The dealer was saying it was normal then the actuator was bad then it needs software.....etc long story short I got sick of it found Mr. 5's post it took me maybe 10min and about a 1/4 turn adjusment problem solved works great no issues nice quite idle, reving, hard acceleration. I couldn't believe it. Thanks Mr.5!!!!
