procede v5!!! problem of OBD rewrite of BMW dealer

My car is 2011 e92 335, with procede V5 installed. Warranty to next year.

Last weekend, I went to BMW dealer for a four-wheel-positioning, due to I don't know after this positioning dealer need to rewrite this program to ECU via OBD (previous I dismantled V5 before go in BMW dealer), then dealer read all data from ECU, but they can't rewrite this program via OBD, there was display" ERROR OF CANBUS"

I was afraid that dealer will check our engine/canbus system, so I made a pretence of dinner and go away.

Is anybody meet this problem?

Did you put the Procede in valet mode?

assuming you should remove the V5 whenever you bring your car in to a BMW dealership.

Always take it out if there is any chance of an OBD hookup. You do not want the prying eyes of ISTA to look into your ECU.

I just had a software update with V5 and did nothing but turned canclear off. Apparently you don't even have to do that anymore, but they updated my car on the first try

unless the wash boys are a lot different than they are here Id suggest staying away from the dealership for washes at all costs.

I used to be one when I was 16, things got ugly. Wash mitts left on the ground then reused on new cars etc.

wash it yourself or have a professional do it.

+1. Dealers will trash your paint when they attempt to wash it.

I thought the N55 versions of the Procede V5 still had an issue with CAN-communication and had to be fully removed to allow dealer reprograms ?

You are correct. Above posters were referring to the N54 version which doesn't have any issue.

hhmm, I wonder if you can just disconnect the 2 canbus wires and leave everything else in tact...

For the n55, just disconnect the 2 CAN wire taps in the ecu box. This will bypass the CAN functions that are interfering with the DME programming. Or better yet, unplug the whole Procede when taking it in to the dealership.

The n54 is different in the CAN functions are disabled when the car isn't running. Whereas in the n55, they are always functional. This is because we use it to read applied throttle which is necessary to do a throttle pump code clear (when the engine is running). Soon, we'll probably eliminate that feature since it can be done through the command center.

Good to hear. I don't feel like messing with the crank sensor again

[By now this should be expected from me:]

This is the same issue that causes the N55 Procede V5 to prevent us from coding the vehicle ourselves. Shiv totally understands whats going on and he will be fixing it in the next update.
