Just out of curiosity, what does warranty have to do with it?

Out of warranty means he doesn't have to or want to take off the tune everytime he visits the dealer. He's saving the time and effort to those who might question why he doesn't just take it out so it doesn't void his warranty.

This is a good question.
The EPA mandates bmw reflash the ecu and put the new fuel pump as well as certain fuel injectors. I don't know the rules in canada.

I am assuming you are talking about the fuel system recall here. This is not a warranty issue and must be performed even if the car is out of warranty.

I believe someone that works at a dealership should chime in here to save some people a half hour.

^ ? thats not what he's asking about I don't think. I believe if you put it in whatever mode that puts you back to stock all the signals go straight through it... but I could be wrong. pm shiv and ask.

Also I know that updating the ecu is a dicey process, that can end up giving you a really big headache. So I wouldn't be worried about the Proceed so much as my car's brain. For peace of mind I would remove it.

Also change your sig or you're a liar!!!!

Why do you make stuff up? Where did you get the information that the EPA mandates a "reflash?"

You are ok to leave it in. Put it into valet mode / stock mode and turn off can clear.

they require the manufacturer to do the recall, because it affects fuel economy and emissions. i shouldn't have said they are managing the procedure. sorry

fvck, take it out. if anything goes wrong with it in, they will just blame the tune and try to charge or something.

Map 0 + turn off CANclear in the user options, otherwise they might have problems flashing it.
