E90 318d Locked?

Hi Guys
Ive just enquired about having my 318d m sport Chipped/ ecu remapped whatever, only to be told that BMW are now locking the ECU!!!

Is this true? I sent a company my last 7 digits of my chassis number and apparently after April 09 they are locked....

Any truth in this?

I think that I have read that the re-mapping companies have solved this one. Try phoning a couple of the site sponsers, Evolve, DTUK etc.
